For seven years, I was driving FoodBev.com, a predominantly B2B website that showcased innovation in food and drink. We covered many sectors within the industry, including packaging, manufacturing and ingredients, and covered many events, including those we organised ourselves.
My job was to oversee site content, ensuring that each and every article, video, podcast and image represented our brand portfolio, which included a range of print titles. I sourced writers, influencers, interviews and media partnerships, and attended many events around the world gathering content and networking with some of the industry’s most influential advocates.
The FoodBev Podcast was set up to showcase the talent in the world of food and beverages, highlighting startups as well as incumbents, interviewing movers and shakers, and setting a standard (that many others followed) for creating alternative media in a business that didn’t necessarily do so.
The success of the FoodBev podcast lay in the fact that we created exclusive, original content through the many contacts we met, and were always careful to maintain journalistic values and high production standards.
