In 2011, I was invited by food packaging and processing company Tetra Pak to have breakfast with its CEO as part of a small team of journalists. There was an opportunity to tour the facilities in Sweden, and a chance to ask Dennis in a private one-to-one about the Dairy Hub programme, Tetra Pak’s recycling goals, and his vision for the future of the company.
Press tours are part and parcel of a journalist’s job, and most of them are interesting if somewhat formal. My trip to visit Tetra Pak was one of the best I’ve ever been on, where I saw behind the scenes at the packaging facility, had breakfast with Dennis, visited Örebro Forest to hear from Korsnäs, and flew on a small plane the likes of which I’ve only ever seen in spy films!
For the benefit of brevity, this is a short, low-quality snippet of the interview. If you want to hear the whole thing in glorious technicolour, drop me a line.
A little extra …
I made a short film while I was there, which we published to the FoodBev Vimeo channel, where I got to plant my own spruce tree. I look forward to returning one day and seeing if it’s any taller than me yet!
