One of the perks of running a podcast is getting to meet or Skype with some of the friendliest people in the business, and Silvan Schumacher is definitely a perfect example. He runs Swanest, a fintech startup that aims to empower do-it-yourself investors. Not only was Silvan a great guest on the BankNXT Fintech Podcast in 2016, he’s also been a good person to know post-BankNXT.
In the episode I recorded with him, he explains how the complex topic of investing is broken down into a more manageable and understandable platform through a combination of beautiful design and simplicity. Silvan also talks about the fintech scene in Belgium, being customer-centric, the influence of the global financial crisis, and the challenges the team faced in getting Swanest up and running.
For the benefit of brevity, this is a short, low-quality snippet of the interview. If you want to hear the whole thing in glorious technicolour, drop me a line.
I had the pleasure to record a podcast with Shaun during his time at BankNXT. He prepared the session very professionally and his friendly, calm and authentic personality made me feel at ease during the entire conversation as if I was talking to a friend. I can only recommend working with him!
