Background
The first episode of The Shape of Money was timed to launch with ieDigital’s attendance at an important industry event in 2019.
With a magazine-style approach, the first episode was segmented into different content chunks that featured interviews with key people at the event.
Audience
The podcast showcased the influence of fintech, a composite of the many facets of a modern financial sector. This meant a varied group of listeners, male and female, large and small companies, established and startup.
Emphasis was placed on ensuring topics were handled with equal care, whether they snugly connected or not. The magazine-style approach was ideal, so each episode could deliver multiple points of interest.
Editing, mixing and being seen (not just heard).
Raw audio was edited and mixed down as usual, and episode masters were produced ready for circulation. Alongside the traditional production route was a simultaneous project of delivering content for other channels, namely a dedicated YouTube playlist. The content plan included a page on the ieDigital website too, to house an archive of episodes. Show notes accompanied each release.
